Skin Saviour
Created in 1930 by Elizabeth Arden, this honey coloured balm saw overwhelming success as a result of its intensive moisturising properties. Containing lanolin and mineral oil, this heavy duty product effectively combines petrolatum (a skin-soothing beta-hydroxy in one of its first cosmetic uses) and Vitamin E.
The origins of its name can be traced to a loyal client whose child’s skinned knee was healed within 8 hours of using it. It was so efficacious that Miss Arden also used it to soothe the legs of her famous thoroughbred horses. Today, men and women everywhere slather on this skin salve to combat dryness, soothe skin scrapes, moisten chapped lips, smooth cuticles and alleviate weather burns, as well as to groom brows.
