Shrink pores, stimulate collagen and zap grease with this painless laser.

At EPW Laser + Medical Aesthetics Clinic, skin rejuvenating procedures using the Dd: YAG laser is one of the most popular treatments as it uses heat from the laser light energy to reduce fine lines and oiliness of the skin as well as tighten pores, creating refreshed skin in under 15 minutes, painlessly and without any downtime, shares Dr EP Wong.

Besides the laser treatments, patients are also advised to follow a customised skincare regime using their in- house products that will complement their treatment and optimise their skin. “It is not just about the equipment, it is important to have the discerning eye, skill and experience of a specialist,” adds Dr Wong who has over 30 years of experience as a medical specialist, including 18 years in the aesthetic field.

What to expect during treatment:

At his luxurious and pristine clinic, Dr Wong first gives the patient an extremely thorough skin consultation – going through her family history, skin condition, diet, skincare regime and all the aesthetic and facial treatments she has done. (Read his tips on what to eat for beautiful, blemish-free skin.) He then examines her face and maps out on a chart, every single scar, mole and facial defect. He is also very knowledgeable and teaches the patient how to look after her skin better during the 30-minute session. She is prescribed a treatment of three laser sessions to reduce her skin oiliness and treat her light pigmentation.

After the consultation, the patient was brought to a room that is sterile and equipped with top-notch surgery equipment. The Nd: YAG laser was fast and very comfortable. In fact, she claimed that she did not feel anything at all, except for Dr Wong’s hands on her face. The treatment was over in less than 10 minutes and a serum was applied followed by sunscreen, before she left the clinic. on her second session, Dr Wong switched the laser from micropulse to nanopulse setting to zap the pigmentation on her cheeks and nose. This felt slightly prickly and cold air was blown onto her face to soothe the slight redness after the laser.

How long before results are seen:

As promised, the patient claimed that her skin looked refreshed and plump, and she was able to keep her usually-oily face matte the whole night without any touch-ups.

Number of treatments required:

For best results, about three to five weekly sessions are recommended, followed by a treatment every three months.

Suitable for:

Anyone looking to rejuvenate their skin, reduce pores and facial greasiness.
