Do you ever wonder how supermodels get to always look their best? How do they always to be shimmering, shining, spending, radiant, gorgeous, while looking effortlessly angelic and immaculate despite the layers of makeup on their skin on every show… Did you ever wish you knew how to put on makeup like them too?

It almost seems impossible to achieve that standard of beauty, but here in Beauty Insider, we aspire to make the impossible possible!

We’ve combined best-kept makeup secrets from Victoria Secret makeup artist Lauren Cosenza and makeup guru Tara Shakespeare.

Do not skip on priming the skin

Applying primer before any other makeup product on your skin will not only help your make up stay put for hours, it will also help your skin diminish any wrinkle or fine lines under any foundation.

If you want to be glowing, using an illuminating base primer like Jane Iredale Smooth Affair Facial Primer & Brightener could do the trick!

Both Lauren and Tara recommend this tip!

Use loose powder

Lauren Cosenza likes brushing off any areas that might look oily with a loose powder. You can use a translucent powder like Laura MercierTranslucent Loose Setting Powder to avoid changing the color of your foundation. Doing this will also help lock in your foundation.

Apply Eyeshadow for a Dazzling Set of Eyes!

Apply an eyelid primer like Shu Uemura Stage Performer to hold your eye shadow in place and always start with the lightest shade. You can play with a maximum of 3 colors for your eyeshadow and makeup the colors go well together.

Lauren and Tara recommend playing with colors gold, bronze, chocolate for beginners!

Add eyeliner

Play with your eyeliner. Experiment by practicing- a straight simple line, or do a fierce cat’s eye! It’s all up to you.

One thing you should never overlook? Your waterline just under your real eyelashes.

You can also put on eyeliner on your waterlines below.

Contour cheekbones, nose and forehead

Who doesn’t contour? Even the seemingly perfect Kim Kardashian is a fan of this makeup magic trick!

Highlight cheekbones, tip of the nose, above the brows

Highlighting is like the frosting on the cake. Make it pretty and don’t skip it! Don’t overdo it too, though. Aim for a luminous, healthy glow and you’re good to go!

Line your lips!

Lining your lips help make it look fuller. Opt for a color that looks almost as natural as your natural lip color. Slightly overdraw them, then fill in with any nude shade lipstick.

Top it off with a gloss!

While matte lipsticks look great, trends are changing this year.

Glosses are the new “LIT”.
