Growing out a bad haircut, or just dreaming of extra long (and extra strong!) hair? These natural essential oils can help grow faster, by nurturing your scalp and “activating” your hair follicles. Plus, they make your hair shiny and smell amazing!

Rosemary

Rosemary prevents hairloss and stimulates blood circulation. It also improves cellular metabolism, basically shifting your hair follicles into second gear!

You can add a few drops of rosemary essential oil into your shampoo or conditioner, or massage it directly into the scalp once a week. Tip: rub it into your brows, too!

Lavender oil

Lavender has antibacterial properties, but it’s a lot gentler than tea tree oil. Use it to keep your scalp in tip top shape, especially if you have dandruff or itchy scalp. By cleaning and purifying your scalp, it prevents hair follicles from being clogged.

Another benefit of lavender oil is that it is naturally relaxing. Try massaging this essential oil into the scalp right before bedtime. it will stimulate hair growth and also help clear any tension headaches and promote better sleep.

Cedar oil

This essential oil stimulates the scalp and helps encourage better and faster hair growth. Since not everyone likes using this scent for every day (it can be a little strong and masculine) try it as a hair mask. Mix it with coconut oil or extra virgin olive oil and then massage into your scalp and strands. Leave it for 10 to 15 minutes and rinse off with lukewarm water.

Lemongrass

This is a great essential oil for hair growth and for dandruff control. It kills bacteria and gently treats and prevents any scalp conditions that can lead to hair loss or irritation. We also love its fresh and very subtle scent — you can apply this in the morning for a fast and convenient DIY hair treatment.

Just massage few drops into your scalp while you’re in the shower. Leave it for a few minutes and then rinse off.

Peppermint

Aside from stimulating the scalp and hair growth, this is one of the most invigorating scents! We love using this on a hot day, or when we’re stressed or sleepy. Within a few seconds, you’ll feel all tingly and fresh. Plus, a bottle of peppermint oil has so many uses — add it to a foot soak or body scrub!
