New Year’s Resolution: have naturally glowing skin, today and twenty years from now! Here are some things you can do to slow down ageing and have the best skin of your life.

Drink your vegetables

It’s hard to eat healthy when you’re busy and forced to live off delivery and cafeteria food. The quick solution: smoothies! You can make and drink one in minutes, and you get your daily dose of antioxidants and vitamins.

It’s full of Vitamin C, carotenoids and healthy fats (which can make your skin supple) and is very hydrating. Drink it when your skin’s looking dry and dull!

Find an outlet for your stress

“Emotional upheavals can make your skin look 5 years older than your chronological age,” says New York City dermatologist and psychiatrist Amy Wechsler, MD, author of The Mind-Beauty Connection.

Stress makes your body produce more cortisol, which causes inflammation, breaks down collagen and trigger acne. Stop stress from building up by scheduling even just 30 minutes of “Me Time” away from work and social media!  Just focus on yourself and do something you enjoy!

Cut back on carbs

High sugar diets have been linked to lower collagen production. And we’re not just talking about chocolates and sweet desserts. Bread, noodles, rice – all staples of an Asian diet – have high carbohydrates.

You don’t have to cut out all carbs, just limit your portions and choose healthier carbs whenever you can. You can also download a food app to keep track of your daily carb intake. It’s easy to forget about “hidden sugars” in sauces, condiments or even your coffee!

Reapply your sunscreen

You know the importance of sunblock, and you probably already apply it every day. However, even a high SPF sunblock won’t last the whole day. You need to reapply every 5 or 6 hours, even if you’re indoors. So you don’t ruin your makeup, use a sunblock spray.
