You could spend 20 minutes washing, blowdrying and styling your hair… or you could hit the snooze button and wake up with perfect hair! Try this genius hairstyling hack on a busy work week, or even a lazy weekend. Now you can ‘gram yourself with model-worthy curls and say #iwokeuplikethis.

Use socks to create texture

Take a clean sock. Wash your hair and dry it with a towel. (Hairstyling hack: press out moisture instead of rubbing it dry, and brush it out while you’re in front of the electric fan. This prevent split ends and frizz.)

Now, make a sock bun,  Tie your hair in a high ponytail. Take your trusty sock and tie it around your ponytail, tucking the ends underneath. Then just wrap your ponytail all around the sock and secure it with a bobby pin. Go to sleep. When you wake up, your hair will have loads of volume and texture. All you need to do is highlight that with a texturizing spray. Try:

Ouai Texturizing Spray “Doesn’t leave a sticky residue, which is good for our humidity,” says one review. $20, Sephora.

  • Verb Sea Texture Spray, Adds light hold, and volume, and hair still feels and looks soft.
    $24, Sephora.

Luxliss Volumist Volume Texture Spray, The light mist dries to a powder, so it doesnt weigh down even fine hair.
$12, Lazada.

 Create beach waves with braids

One of the easiest hairstyling hacks ever! Just dry  your hair until it’s just slightly damp. Divide your hair into three sections and braid each one. There’s no rule on how and where to place the braids – it’s really up to you! The pro tip: don’t braid the last inch of your hair, so they stay straight. That’ll make the waves look prettier and more effortless!

Now the next morning, just take out the braids and voila, instant beach waves! You can set it with a light spray, or add a little volumizing spray for extra oomph. Try:

IGK 30,000 Feet Volume Powder Spray. Coats your hair with bentonite clay so you can add more volume than ever before. $48, Sephora.

Living Proof Perfect hair Day (PhD) In-Shower Styler. The shampoo that styles! As your
hair dries, it contracts, enhancing natural waves.  $35, Sephora.

Make tiny buns for cute ringlets

All you have to do is to divide your hair into different sections and then make tiny buns (small hair ties are perfect for this). It’s a lot like the beach wave technique, but by making smaller buns you get tighter, cuter curls. Try:

Scunci No Slip Grip. Won’t damage your hair, and the thick no-slip gro keeps hair in palce even if you toss around in your sleep.

Straighten hair with a hair wrap

Want to wake up with sleek, straight hair? This is what you do. Comb down your hair, then part it where you usually do (whether it’s in the middle or at the side). Now continue the hair part all the way down to your nape – basically dividing your hair into two sections.

Neatly tuck your hair behind your ears and then place your hair in front of your shoulders.  Then, take one section and pull it diagonally to the other side of your head. Pin it with a really huge hair clip. Do this to the other section, too.

Wrap your hair with a scarf and sleep. If you’ve got frizzy hair, try this hairstyling hack: sleep on silk pillow cases. Less friction on your hair = less frizz when you wake up!

Fake a blow-out with hair rollers

Hair rollers? Yeah, this is so old school, but so effective! Your hair looks like you got a perfect blow-out. Just apply a volumizing cream into your hair, concentrating from the middle to the tips. Wrap the top part of your head around hair rollers. Try:

Large self-grip hair rollers. Just twist and it holds! Feels soft and more comfortable to sleep in. 12 pieces for $4.83, Lazada.
