In 2014, ColourPop was started by siblings Laura and John Nelson, in Los Angeles. The cosmetic brand’s popularity was solely grown online, through social media. Starting out via Instagram, millennials were almost instantly drawn to ColourPop and its colorful branding, quickly growing the brand’s community of 1.6 million ColourPoppers and ColourPopettes.
Lovers of the cosmetic brand praise their products for being affordable, without sacrificing product quality. The brand has also won the hearts of many beauty vloggers, and recommended by most makeup artists.
ColourPop currently still markets their brand and products via social media, constantly communicating with their following of beauty enthusiasts. ColourPop products are still only available for purchases online.
