My skin was a mess. I tried a product that triggered a terrible breakout. I switched to an acne treatment that ended up drying out most of my nose, cheeks and chin area. So now I had pimples and ugly, flaky skin. Help!

Supernatural, super gentle

With my skin on a rampage, I couldn’t risk getting another skin reaction. So I tried Chorus Supernatural. It had no chemicals, artificial fragrances or colors that could irritate the skin. (Read more about natural skincare here.) It was also full of powerful plant extracts that moisturize, heal and soothe the skin. Exactly what I needed.

Yay, no redness or stinging!

“Cleanse” is a hypoallergenic cleanser that contains tea tree oil and lemongrass to kill acne-causing bacteria.

I was initially worried about tea tree oil, since the ingredient can dry out the skin. However, Chorus’ formula was not irritating or drying at all. My skin felt clean, but still very soft. I didn’t feel any stinging on my chin either, even if I had a couple of really bad pimples there.

It can’t remove waterproof makeup, so double cleanse with an oil if you’re wearing heavy-duty foundation or eyeliner. But for an everyday cleanser, it’s amazing.

Extra shot of moisture

I was really pleased with Chorus’ serum (Boost) and cream (Hydrate). They’re like Batman and Robin, teaming up to rescue skin from the Evil Forces of dryness and aging. Hyaluronic acid locks in moisture, shea butter moisturizes even more. After about five days of using this, my nose and forehead no longer felt like sandpaper.

These also have a lot of antioxidants from flower and seed oils, many of which I see in more expensive serums. Chorus Supernatural does a great job of making natural skincare affordable. Its serum is less than $40, but has the same level of ingredients as a $150 “celebrity” oil.

My beauty sanctuary

I also tried the Rosemary Mint volumising shampoo (oooooh, I love the smell!) and their facial mask. They’ve become my simple beauty treat at the end of a long day.

The mask is really easy to mix: one teaspoon of the paste with three drops of water. Following the instructions, I leave it on for just 3 minutes the first time, then built up to 10 minutes over the next two weeks. It does make the pores look smaller (note to self: use this before a big date). It detoxes but doesn’t dry out the skin.

There’s hope for irritated skin

After two weeks of trying Chorus, my skin is looking much better. The dryness is under control, my nose and chin aren’t red, and my face doesn’t sting when I cleanse. I like how the products have gently and steadily brought it back to health.
