Is it just me or are people coming out of lockdown getting more creative than ever? Because by looking at all the trendy stuff that is going on lately, is really making me raise my eyebrows. Oh, and talking about eyebrows, something caught my eyes while scrolling down the internet the other day. Remember when there used to be a carved-brows trend? Then we moved into an era where everyone went crazy over bleached brows and not long after they’re bushy brows of feathery brows came into play—now, if all of that isn’t weird enough, let us introduce you to Encrusted Brows.

Okay, can someone please enlighten us what the heck is ‘’encrusted eyebrows’’, really? If only anyone is kind enough to explain it to us, where has this trend emerged from? Sure, we did a little digging, and here’s what exactly we know (so far) about encrusted eyebrows. In our humble opinion, encrusted eyebrows are actually similar to ‘’glitter brows’’, but what sets them apart is that these new encrusted trend brows are much less messy compared to glitter brows. Because while glitter brows look prettier, they can be tricky to apply—and even much trickier to remove, (Hello messy glue everywhere!).

So without wasting any more time, Beauty Insider is here to help you understand further what encrusted eyebrows are and why they are slowly creeping on us. Will this be an acceptable trend, or the other way around? We’ll just have to look and see.

Who Started The Encrusted Eyebrow Trend?

We first saw the debut of the encrusted eyebrow trend when singer Kacey Musgraves attended her ‘star-crossed’ film thriller a few weeks ago. Everyone was stunned with the appearance of her arches covered in sparkly rhinestones, like honestly there are no hairs on sight, just bejewelled eyebrows. Then, not long ago, of course, U.K singer Griff replicated the look to mimic Kacey’s appearance by walking down the red carpet with bejewelled eyebrows. So, it is safe to say that we have officially entered yet another weird yet creative eyebrow trend. Seriously, what is wrong with everyone and where did all these inspiration come from?

How To Encrusted Eyebrows?

Now onto the most awaited question, how does one successfully encrusted their eyebrow? How does one master the art of bedazzling their sculpted eyebrows? Right, before we started, I would like to remind you that we are nor experts when it comes to DIY-ing your existing features—eyebrows, hairs, eyelashes, the list goes on. The least we could do is to give suggestions and it is all up to you to come up with your own decision. Deal. So with that being said, before you blindly accessorize your perfectly sculpted eyebrows with any gems or stones, you might want to bleach your brows first. And no, we’re not talking about permanent bleach where it messed up your brow hair, only temporarily bleach. There’s a lot of temporary brow dye you could find online, or at the salon. Buuuut, if you aren’t brave enough or afraid there will be severe damage, we recommend you to cover your brows with concealer. Simply dab a huge amount of concealer until it looks like skin and no hairs are in sight.

Bedazzled Your Brow, Carefully

Right, after you managed to cover those hairs and worked on those empty spaces, it’s time to channel your inner Karl Lagerfield and get busy. Gently pull out the rhinestones, sequins or beads—according to your choice, from its packaging and follow the shape of your now non-existent eyebrow. But remember, the key here is to carefully glue to keep those jewellery in tack to your skin. When it comes to choosing a glue, make sure you buy those glue that is suitable for arts and crafts. They’re usually softer and easy to work with. Keep in mind that you want to dress up for a day, not having sparkly eyebrows forever, so be careful.

How To Choose Jewellery?

For choosing the ‘’right’’ jewellery, honestly there’s no right or wrong. Again, it all depends on your creativity and your comfortability. Of course, much like your rings, necklaces and earrings, you might want to choose an accessory that represents you the most. Imagine if you were invited to a new-born party and your rocked deep black encrusted eyebrows with designs that look fierce and scary, it’s a no-no. If you asked us, our choices would be decent, neutral colours that would look stunning placed on your brows but at the same it’s dazzling enough to make a statement. We can’t stress this enough, when it comes to beauty trends, and style, there’s always room for improvement, playfulness and creativity. If you take a look at Kacey’s encrusted brows, she opted for a simple crystal-esque sequins design. As for Griff, she chose beads that protruded the length further from her face. If you’re prone to Kacey’s style, then good job. You learned to go for the most accessible one—reason being, sequins are easier to find in craft stores, they also have different sizes so they are very convenient for you to play around with.
