What Is A Fat Freezing Treatment?

Fat freezing—also known as cool sculpting—is a pain-free treatment which was first introduced after research was conducted into frostbite. The process saw that a certain amount of fat cells have been put ‘’to sleep’’ or frozen before it could resurface on the appearance of your skin. This is due to scientists’ belief that extreme cold weather could help fat cells to shrink but not necessarily harm our skin cells. 

The procedure was carefully carried out by the professionals—where a vacuum-like applicator will be smoothly run through your targeted area while patients requisite to maintain the same position. During that session, it will freeze your unwanted fat cells around your muscle area and after a while, slowly paralysing the fat cell which will then cause them to die naturally. 

They took only about an hour to complete the treatment. Similar to liposuction treatment, the only difference is there will be no needle involved in the procedure. Overall, this is the safer alternative compared to liposuction surgery. You can easily go about and do your normal everyday activities, right after the treatment. What Do Fat Freezing Procedures Look Like?

Of course, the first step is to book an appointment with a trustee, certified, FDA-approved clinic. Do as much research as you can about the clinic of your choice. And listed down all the correlation questions—and don’t be shy to ask anything that you had in mind. 

Next, upon arrival, you will be given a run-through of what the procedure will look like. At this point, you can voice out your concerns, including past surgeries, traumas and post-op care. After the discussion, you will be taken to the treatment room where you need to change into comfortable attire (which they will distribute, so don’t worry). 

They will ask you to either lie down on your back or stand still (depending on the areas of your treatment). Two machines will then be positioned in between the area where you wish to get rid of the fat cells—your thighs, your flabby arms, your abdomen or your buttocks. A vacuum-like applicator will smoothly run through your targeted area. During that session, you will be faced with an extremely cold surface at first and the feeling of discomfort may arise. Expect numbness. This is when the act of freezing your unwanted fat cells takes place. After a while, they slowly paralyse the fat cell which will then cause them to die naturally. 

The treatment usually lasted around 45 minutes to an hour. Depending on the thickness of your skin. They will then quickly help massage out the numbness area. And before you know it, you’ve completed your first treatment.

Side Effects Of Fat Freezing Treatment 

Though fat freezing or coolsculpting treatment is the safer alternative compared to liposuction, there are a few common side effects you can expect after getting the treatment. But a slight bruise and swelling might be visible especially if you are prone to sensitive skin. You will experience a tingling effect for around a few days.
