Don’t hide your pretty eyes behind your frames! These eye makeup tips will help define your eyeshape and enhance your eye colour. You’ll even learn how to match your eye makeup with your glasses!

Tarte Toasted Eyeshadow Palette

Use a neutral eye shadow colour

Dark eyeglass frames and dark eye shadow will accentuate the dark circles under your eyes. Use a light and neutral lid colour.

But that doesn’t mean you have to give up your dark eyeshadow shades. You can wear them with eyeglasses with a delicate frame in a light colour (like gold or silver). Or, concentrate the dark eyeshadow along your lashline, then add a shimmer accent in the inner corner and highlighter on the browbone.

Use highlighter for a bright-eyed look

Apply highlighter or a shimmer eye shadow in the middle of the eyelid or along the browbone.

Eye makeup tip: Do your eyes look tired or yellowish? Blue eyeliner will make the whites of your eyes look even whiter.

Use white eyeliner to make your eyes look bigger

Lining the entire eye with black will make your eyes look smaller. Use black or blue eyeliner on the upper lashline, and white or nude eyeliner on your lower lashline or waterline. Your eyes look brighter and more awake.

Draw a Q-tip along the waterline so it dries the area — the eyeliner lasts longer!

Bobbi Brown Long Wear Gel Eyeliner

Adjust your eyeliner according to your frames

The thicker your frames, the thicker your eyeliner should be. You may also want to use gel and liquid liners, which tend to be more pigmented and won’t disappear behind the lens.

Experiment with coloured liners

Coloured eyeliners are one of the easiest ways to make your eyes stand out even if you’re wearing glasses. Check out ten of our favourite coloured eyeliners.

Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler

Never skip curling your lashes

Your lashes need that extra lift and definition. Tip: briefly blast the eyelash curler with a blowdryer. This warms it up so your eyelash curl lasts longer!

Use a volumizing mascara

You need two coats — yes, two coats! Wriggle the wand as you bring it up the lash. That little eye makeup hack really helps make your lashes look thicker and longer!

Keep your brows on fleek

Eyeglasses will bring more attention to your eyebrows, so make sure they’re well groomed and perfectly shaped. Also look into eyebrow tints, that can temporarily change the shade of your brows. Some frames may look better when your eyebrows are lighter than your hair colour — experiment and see how it works for you.
