Hair conditioner is part of the essentials when it comes to hair care, many skip out this step, but it is not advisable since conditioner helps to keep your hair hydrated and moisturise. Skipping it would only make your hair more fragile.
3 Different types of conditioner
Rinse out conditioner
This is the most basic conditioner pretty much everyone uses. It is not hard to use and the steps are pretty simple. Apply a right amount of the product onto your hair and gently massage them. Wait for about one to two minutes, and then you're good to rinse them off. The goal of using conditioner, especially rinse out ones is to protect the outer surface of your hair cuticle, this way it would leave a barrier for heat too. Dry, normal or even oily hair is encouraged to use each time after you shampoo your hair.
Now make sure you apply the product on your hair and not on your scalp. One you're done applying thoroughly, rinse with COLD WATER!! Avoid using hot water on your hair as it can be very damaging for your scalp.
Leave in conditioner
People with thinner, curly or oily hair, this is your calling. This type of conditioner is light-weight and super thin. You don't have to rinse it off after application. In fact, this is to apply after you shampoo your hair. Towel dry your hair and apply a sufficient amount onto your hair and massage it until the products enter your hair. It can be often used to detangle your hair.
Our current favourite leave-in conditioner is from Ouai leave-in conditioner. It makes your hair smooth, tangle-free and smells wonderful too!
Deep conditioner
Deep conditioner is best for damaged and dry hair. Just like the name, you have to condition your hair to a deep level. Deep conditioners are not suitable for normal and oily hair, it will make your hair look oilier by weighing down your hair. Here is how you can deep condition your hair, apply the product thoroughly and massage them, once done, leave it in for about 30 minutes. Rinse it with clean water.
To deeply condition your hair is very tiring and it consumes most of your time, hence, you are encouraged to try this method every once a week or even a month. Though getting your hair dyed is cool and fun, you have to get in a deep condition 3 days earlier to ensure that the bleach doesn't harm your hair and scalp.
