A new nose by the New Year? You may want to consider one of the most popular aesthetic treatments in Asia: the nose threadliftThe Clifford Clinic answers some frequently asked questions to help you decide if it’s for you.

How does a nose threadlift work?

This non-surgical treatment makes use of special PDO (polydixanone) threads. The doctor will insert these into strategic places in your nose, where they can act as a scaffold or structure. The body produces collagen and tissue fibroblasts around the threads, giving you the definition and shape that you wish.

The threads naturally dissolve and are absorbed, leaving behind your newly-defined nose.

What can a nose threadlift do?

This aesthetic procedure can give you a more defined nose bridge, and in some case make it look straighter and higher. It can also enhance the shape of your nose tip. It can make it look more pointed and sharp, or make it look smaller.

These changes are subtle and look natural, since you are not surgically changing the nose shape but lifting it with special threads.

What can I expect during the treatment?

In the first consultation, you will discuss your desired nose shape and get a clear idea of whether the nose threadlift is the best way to achieve your goals. This is a very important step, and feel free to ask The Clifford Clinic any questions.

The actual procedure may actually be faster than your first meeting. It can take as little as 15 to 20 minutes! Your doctor will mark the areas where he will insert the threads. You will then be given a numbing cream and local anesthesia to keep you comfortable throughout the entire treatment.

How long will the results last?

The nose will usually hold its shape for about 1 to 2 years. You can have repeat treatments to support or further enhance it.

What are some risks or side effects?

Nose threadlifts has less risks and downtime than surgical rhinoplasty. It is also considered more precise than nose fillers, which may have risks of migration, lumps or broadening.

The treatment is done in sterilized conditions in the clinic to avoid infection. Your doctor will talk to you about any precautions you need to take in the first few days. You shouldn’t use skincare or makeup products for at least 1 day after the treatment, but otherwise you can go about your daily business. You may feel initial discomfort, but this usually disappears after a week.

Like any other aesthetic treatment, the results depend on the experience and skill of the doctor, and the quality of the technology (or in this case, the threads).

The Clifford Clinic has performed this procedure several times with good results. Find out more about the nose threadlift from The Clifford Clinic.
