Pixi Glow Tonic Review

The Ingredients

pixi-glow-tonic

The Pixi Glow Tonic is expertly formulated to deeply cleanse the skin and slough off dead skin cells. While the idea of an exfoliating toner may seem harsh, it is surprisingly gentle on the skin, thanks to its hypoallergenic formula. This award-winning product has garnered cult attention for its ability to transform dull, lacklustre complexions into brighter and healthier-looking skin in just one step.

At the heart of its formulation, Pixi Glow Tonic harnesses the power of 5% glycolic acid, which gently removes impurities and purifies the skin. Aloe vera, a soothing powerhouse, works magic to soothe irritated skin and retain the hydration level. Powered by ginseng and other botanical extracts, it helps boost circulation and energise the skin. These ingredients work collectively to accelerate skin cellular renewal, ensuring glowing skin befitting its name.

Even though it contains fragrance, it features a gentle formulation that is suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin. It is also free from irritating and harmful ingredients such as alcohol, parabens, and sulphates.

The Texture

Similar to other toners, Pixi Glow Tonic features a clear watery texture that feels refreshing on the skin. With such consistency, applying it using a cotton pad is a breeze, as it distributes easily across the face, neck, and décolletage. Unlike creamy toners, this one won’t leave any uneven white patches on your skin. It absorbs quickly, making it ideal for busy working women and mothers who don’t have any spare time. You can easily layer your makeup or moisturizer over the toner without worrying about dripping or causing oiliness. Its scent reminds me of herbal fragrance, which can be attributed to the presence of ginseng in its formulation. However, it is quite mild and does not linger for long.

How to Use it

You can either opt to use it in the morning or evening, as it can be too drying when used twice a day. After cleansing your face, simply saturate a cotton pad with Pixi Glow Tonic and sweep it across your face, neck, and décolletage in a windshield wiper motion. Do note that you should avoid the eye area. Then follow up with your favourite serum and moisturiser.

If you’re new to chemical exfoliants, you might experience a slight skin reaction as your skin is not yet tolerant to this AHA-based toner. However, it is a perfect starter for anyone looking to incorporate chemical-based products into their beauty routine.

Overall Review

I have personally been using Pixi Glow Tonic for over five years now, and I’m still counting the days! Even though I have oily and acne-prone skin, I usually alternate between Pixi Glow Tonic and my other hydrating toner to avoid over-drying my skin. Trust me, this trick works like magic, allowing my skin to reap its ultimate benefits without going overboard with the exfoliation.

Since trying Pixi Glow Tonic, I have witnessed visible improvements in my overall complexion, especially in terms of rough skin texture and lacklustre appearance. With just one application, I instantly notice significant changes as it brightens and smoothens my skin, eliminating any annoying bumps along the way.

While I have noticed fewer acne breakouts over these five years, the changes may not be that visibly dramatic due to occasional hormonal acne flare-ups. Nevertheless, this highly-rated toner has been a game-changer that has helped decongest my pores. Before discovering this holy grail product, I was often bothered by pesky blackheads that were difficult to deal with. Overtime, their appearance has lessened.

To be honest, Pixi Glow Tonic is one of the first few chemical exfoliants I tried. Despite being new to this ingredient, I didn’t experience any adverse reactions; instead, I was left with glowing and healthy skin. I made sure to do my homework (patting myself on the back) and applied sunscreen when using it in the morning. If you’re concerned about potential irritation, I recommend using it during your nighttime skincare routine and following up with a hydrating or soothing serum and moisturiser for extra protection.

Another rave review I’ve heard is that Pixi Glow Tonic works wonderfully to prep the skin for makeup. While I usually avoid applying makeup daily to let my skin breathe, I do suffer from several skin issues that call for a revival of my overworked skin. On some occasions when I applied makeup without foundation, I noticed that Pixi Glow Tonic makes makeup application easier. Think of it as a skin tonic that beautifully prepares and smoothens your canvas (read: skin) for makeup.
