When Selena Gomez announced the official drop of her new makeup line, Rare Beauty, we couldn’t wait to get our hands on it!
But hold your horses! Before you get your hopes up too soon, Rare Beauty is currently only available in Sephora US, Canada and Mexico, and on their official website. Yes, sadly this coveted brand will only hit our shores some time in 2021. But not to worry, good things come to those who wait, no?
So while we wait (rather impatiently) for its imminent arrival, here are 5 reasons why we’re super stoked about Rare and all that it stands for:
Contents
1. Diversity And Inclusiveness
Gone are the days when beauty was homogeneous and one-dimensional. Beauty brands can’t very well pride themselves on being relatable today if they aren’t able to boast an inclusive variety of foundation and concealer shades in their arsenal.
With a whopping 48 shades of foundation and concealer to choose from, Rare more than hits the mark with their inclusive shades and diverse range of skin tones and undertones.
2. Deliciously Vibrant Lip Colors!
We are totally living for these 12 gorgeous shades of Lip Soufflé Lip Creams! They glide on like butter and have a smooth satiny finish. From vibrant purples to earthy browns and aubergines, Rare’s bold and brilliant shades are enough to brighten anyone’s lips and day.
Additionally, Rare offers 8 shades of Gratitude Dewy Lip Balms if you prefer a more natural and luminous finish.
3. Vegan And Cruelty-Free
You read that right, Rare’s entire collection is 100% vegan and cruelty-free!
4. Rare Beauty Is An Advocate For Mental Health
To raise mental health awareness and to give back to the community, one percent of all annual sales will contribute to a $100-million fundraising goal to help increase access to mental health resources for all. The Rare Impact Fund even includes its own council of mental health experts. Read more about this initiative here.
Rare was a personal mission for Selena, who has been honest about her own struggles with mental health.
5. Rare Beauty Is Body And Beauty-Positive
Last but not the least, Rare encourages women and men to embrace their own unique individuality.
And as Rare so aptly put on Instagram, “Sometimes we just need to be reminded how rare we actually are…Be you, be proud, be rare.” Here’s to celebrating feeling beautiful in our own skin!
