What’s the IPL treatment like?

Finally, the aesthetician will wipe off the gel and follow up with a soothing post-treatment cream.

What to expect after the IPL treatment?

After the session ended, you can resume daily activities, as usual. However, you may feel like you have sunburn on the treated area as it will be red, and sensitive for about four to six hours. The conditions may continue for a few days after the treatment. You can apply icepacks on the skin to minimizes the swollen and most importantly avoid using any hot water and makeup until it heals. Besides that, it is recommended that you apply moisturizer to soothe the skin and protect your skin with sunscreen. Typically, people undergo up to seven sessions to effectively remove the hair.

How is IPL different from laser hair removal?

IPL uses a broad spectrum light at short wavelengths to penetrate deeper into the skin to eradicate new hair growth more gently and effectively. On the other hand, laser hair removal uses a single spectrum laser beam to heat up and destroy the hair at the roots. Unlike IPL hair removal, laser hair removal requires fewer sessions.
