Jake Bailey, Katy Perry’s makeup artist, shared: “I decided to go with a classic Katy look—elongated cat eyes, lots of mascara, super sparkly gold and silver glitter, and a bold red lip for glamour and showmanship,” Bailey said. “I wanted her to glow and sparkle for her big moment in just nine steps!”

In order to achieve the same effect, first use a matte brown powder to “sculpt” the lids. Apply a shiny, rust-toned powder on the middle, and layer with a bit of copper powder. Next, line the eyes with coffee-toned liner. Lastly, paint black mascara generously on both top and bottom lashes. This is a method known as eye contouring, where areas of the lids are highlighted or darkened to create depth.
