How do you apply eyeshadow for Asian eyes, to enhance your gorgeous eye shape and make them look bigger? Here are some great makeup ideas you can try.

1. Play with pink and plum

Instead of a heavy smokey eye (which can overwhelm small eye shapes) use shades of brown, pink and plum to line around your eyes. Use shimmer for a pretty daytime look, and trade black eyeliner for a dark brown.

2. Enhance the lower lashline with gold eyeshadow

Your pink-and-plum eyeshadow for Asian eyes can easily be glammed up for dates or clubbing. . use black liquid eyeliner, and extend it into a kitten flick. For full-on drama, add false eyelashes and coloured contacts.

TIP: Many eyeshadow palettes for Asian eyes include pale pink or pearl white shades. These can look chalky on medium or dark skin, or if you have yellow undertones. Try palettes with more “autumn” shades: copper, orange, plum and mauve.

3. Keep it clean — and highlight the inner eye

This is one of our favourite ways to apply eyemakeup for Asian eyes! Just neutralize discolouration on the eyelid with eye primer and a neutral eyeshadow, sweep a neutral shade all over the lid, and then use a very tiny brush to highlight the inner eye area.

Soft blush and a nude lipstick complete this very natural everyday Asian makeup look. Even the brows are only softly defined with powder. By keeping the rest of the makeup matte and minimal, that tiny hint of shimmer in the inner eye already makes your eyes stand out.

4. Do a double line

Ready to apply eyeshadow for Asian eyes like a BOSS? Start with a cat eye. Then, define your crease with dark eyeshadow. Let them meet, and you have a super eye-catching look.

5. Use a faint gold shimmer

The best way to apply this eyeshadow for Asian eyes is to use a high quality gold shimmer or metallic shade. Look for fine pigments, in a shade that works well on your skin tone. You can also use a creamy eye pencil, then smudge it out with a brush. Finish with liquid eyeliner and long, thick lashes!
