It’s getting hot here—ofc, it’s summer season now in America, and the celebs are doing everything they can to match the fiery hot weather. And that includes the hair trends!

Gone are the days of Milk Tea Hair or Chocolate Cake tresses, thanks to famous faces like Gigi Hadid, Dua Lipa and Ashley Benson—one could even credit The Queen’s Gambit‘s Beth Harmon—the best bit? It flatters everyone who tries it, whether they opt for copper highlights or an all-over auburn hue.

Beauty Insider has all the tea when it come hair trends:

Gigi Hadid Kicked Off The Hair Trend

Our favourite Palestenian supermodel Gigi Hadid and her long, blonde, sunkissed waves are symbolic. It’s her signature look. So when Gigi revealed her new, bright red hair on 28th June on Instagram, all jaw drops. She did not hold back with the hair reveal, letting it all flow under a black beanie.

And while some fans think, ‘’Ah, she’s just wearing a wig’’. Nah, think again because this photo was taken by paparazi few days after:

Dua Lipa’s Versace Shoot

But Gigi ain’t the only hot celeb who rocks the red hair trend, tho. Have you seen Dua Lipa’s Versace campaign? The singer usually has short black hair but in the new photo, she rocked brand new long, bright red hair done by hairstylist, Paul Hanlon. Her hair was down and straight with front bangs while she rocked a black leather hat on top.

This isn’t the first time the 24 years old beauty dyed her hair red, in fact, she went strawberry blonde back in 2019 and dyed neon red streaks into her black hair back in 2020. What we love about Dua is that she’s always willing to switch around her looks and be playful!

So, Red Hair Really A Thing Now?

According to Amanda Tua, Founder & Creative Director at Amanda Tua Hair says “Absolutely!”, telling ELLE Australia that it’s risen in the ranks thanks to its versatility. And while the concept of copper locks can seem intimidating, it doesn’t have to be. No matter whether your locks are originally light or dark, there’s a way to nail the look without the fuss.

According to Amanda, there are various ways to incorporate copper into hair and for blondes, it’s “as simple as changing up your toner”. “Ask your colourist for something warmer: think strawberry blonde or peachy tones. This can be done at the end of your usual highlight service. The best part about a toner is it will fade out, so it’s a great way to test a copper shade against your skin tone and super easy to go back to your real hair colour,” says Amanda.

How To Take Care Of Coloured Hair

But with every colour change, comes maintenance. For copper locks, Amanda explains that keeping the pigment vibrant can be the biggest struggle. “Toning conditioners are great at-home maintenance, they contain colour pigment to instantly intensify and brighten your colour in as little as 10 minutes,” she suggests. But as for which products copper newbies should get their hands on, she admits she’s a strong advocate for colour preserving masks and conditioners.

Okay ladies, guess we know what colour we’re going for after this!
