Japan is known for more than just its lofty buildings, cutting-edge technology, and rich cuisine. With their excellent sense of style, the upmarket country has long led the fashion and beauty sector, combining old and new approaches often, and this applies to the hair scene as well. Hair salons in Japan are recognised for their high-quality treatments and attractive cuts, which come at a hefty cost. With that, Beauty Insider is sharing one of our favourite Japanese hair salons in Singapore for when we need a new look: Halu Hair Design!

About Halu Hair Design

HaLu Hair Design, founded by Daisuke Kasai and Seiji Kawashima, provides an affordable luxury experience in Singapore employing Japanese techniques for a genuine Japanese salon experience. They are both industry veterans with more than 15 years of combined experience in Japan and Singapore. The salon strives to give customers the same high-quality service and styling as luxury Japanese salon brands in Singapore but at a fraction of the cost.

HaLu Hair Design is a new idea that aims to provide economical hair cutting and styling utilising Japanese techniques while also providing an authentic Japanese salon experience. Because the salon is small and only accommodates about 7 people at a time, making a reservation is always a good idea if you want a guaranteed spot.

What To Expect At Halu Hair Design

Haircuts start at $50 and increase up based on the stylist’s status, but you’ll undoubtedly be in good hands for the money! Hair treatments for damaged, bleached hair, as well as colour and perm options, are all available.

HaLu Hair Design is about spreading the skills and the Japanese salon experience to as many people as possible, according to Daisuke Kasai. They provide the same high-quality service seen in high-end salons for a fraction of the cost, spreading joy and instilling confidence one style at a time. The four hairstylists hail from Japan and Singapore, and between them, they have over 50 years of expertise in styling hair in various disciplines.

Meet The Stylists At Halu Hair Design

Daisuke has over 15 years of experience in Japan as a hairstylist and salon manager, with a diverse background in hair styling, customer service, and staff training. He specialises in perms that cause the least amount of harm to the hair, resulting in long-lasting, natural-looking hair. Massaging, layering protein, keratin, hydration, usage of the Nobel Prize-winning chemical Fullerene during perm, and a steaming mask are all part of the Tokio Inkarami rigorous multi-step ritual treatment. It’s perfect for anyone who wants to revitalise their damaged hair and curls by increasing perm and volume, rebonding results, and decreasing bleaching damage while making hair velvety smooth.

Before moving to Singapore in 2014, Seiji Kawashima refined his abilities in Japan and received training at London Vidal Sassoon. Seiji performed hairstyling training courses in China and Malaysia hair academies as an experienced hairstylist and salon manager. Seiji stands out as a competent hairstylist before he evaluates the many alternatives best suited for his consumers because of his personalised service, in-depth awareness of lifestyle, and hair care routine.

Before arriving in Singapore, Seiya Sato worked as a hairstylist in Japan for ten years. He specialises in Silky Rebonding, which produces spectacular results that are unlike any other hair straightening treatment.

Keith Lim, a Singaporean hairdresser with a sharp eye for detail, has accumulated ten years of expertise in some of Singapore’s top Japanese hair salons and continues to give high-quality Japanese service. His speciality includes the way he tailors his cuts to each person’s facial shape, making them seem leaner and younger while yet being simple to care for and maintain.
