Men, men, men—you guys really have come a long way when it comes to grooming business. From using the simple old soap-and-flannel, to being served with arrays of skincare options you could ever possibly find on the beauty market. Men used to wash their hair with a normal ‘’who knows what’s inside’’ shampoo, now they’re presented with endless options of shampoo and conditioner sets on the aisle.

Even their barbershops have expanded with lush spacious interiors, all to ensure the comfortness for the gentlemen to undergo their beauty treatment. And speaking of barbershops—where dudes usually go for a purpose of cutting their hair and beards—now, there are barber shops that even offer a menu of selection for men to get beautified. One of them is eyebrow grooming! Impressive. Look at how things are slowly shifting gender norms?

Ever heard the term saying eyebrows are the first thing that people noticed when they first met you? Yeah, that and your shoes, though. Obviously that term doesn’t apply to only women because men start to look after their brows as well to leave the best impression ever. But for you fella who never undergoes any grooming treatment, you might raise your eyebrows on what exactly does it correlate with your facial appearance? Girls, don’t laugh. Let Beauty Insider do the explanation on the importance of brow grooming and the best eyebrow shapes that are suitable with Asian men.

The Importance Of Brow Grooming

Right, let’s get started. As mentioned earlier, your brow can play a vital figure when it comes to first impressions and shaping your overall appearance. Of course, you wanted your brows to look as normal as possible. Unless you’re one of those Kardashian Klan then you might want to overdraw your eyebrows. I mena, go ahead if that’s what you look after. But to be honest, Asian women prefer natural and feathery brows as compared to Hollywood’s side. So, you men need to follow suit, okay? The good rule of thumb is you don’t want it to look overly done, but maintain the bolder of its mien. This is because, the bolder your brow looks, the stronger and more fierce you appear to be, for a guy. Thick, strong and defined brows give you a fierce impression. In CHinese believe if you have a thick eyebrow that means you were born lucky and you’ll become wealthy throughout your life. So, there’s that.

Avoid Putting Skincare Products On Your Brow

Oh, if you’re a girl, please stay on this point. This is a common mistake that both men and women often make. Did you know that you are not supposed to put nor apply any skincare products on your brows? Unless your products are made for brow grooming, you should avoid layering any creams like moisturizer, SPF or serum on top of your brow. Imagine putting a conditioner right on top of your scalp. It’s a no no. Let me push this again, unless the products are specifically formulated and made for your brow then go ahead and be my guest. But if it’s your normal face gels, face creams, foundations or lotions, please get it away as far as possible from your brow perimeter. Those products can seep deep into your brows and prevent hair growth, worse stopping the ingrown hair to produce altogether.

Brows Aren’t Supposed To Be Identical

For us girls, we have this mantra of ‘’brows are supposed to be sisters, not twins’’, and you men might want to use that as well. And if you are new to this grooming treatment, stop trying to make your brows perfect because they cannot be! They are not supposed to look the exact same. Stop with the symmetry obsession. None of your figures and bodies are perfectly symmetrical with each other, and that applies to your brows as well.

Do Not Pluck Your Brows!

Another advice that applied for girls as well. Please, for the love of Cara Delevigne, do not pluck and tweeze your brows. Unless you are a pro and have a certificate in brows shaping and brow styling, go head bro and sis, but if you’re not please don’t. The safest way to clean unwanted brow hair is to gently shave them using a brow shaver. However, if you never had the experience of shaving brows, leave them behind as well! Just book an appointment with your brow lady.

The Best Eyebrow Shape For Asian Men

1. Thick & Arched

As mentioned before, Asian men are most suitable with thicker looking brows. They create a more masculine and stronger feature. They also accentuate your natural look and leave an intimidating  impression.

2. Thick & Rounded

If arches give off an intimidating look, a rounded shape offers a more relaxing look. If you want to look approachable and laid-back, opt for a rounded shaped brow. But remember, maintain the thickness of your brow.

3. Thick & Straight

While most girls prefer a slightly arched brow shape, there are few who love to maintain the straight-shaped brow. This applies to male counterparts, as well. If you want to stick to a more natural side, ask your brow stylist not to over pluck or overshaved your the arches of your brow. Afterall being natural is what it takes.

4. Groomed & Straight

If you want to look well-put together, but still preserve the natural side, ask your brow stylist to clean away any baby hairs around your brows. Trimmed a few brow hairs here and there for a more cleaner look. As in the shape, leave the straight-cut.

5. Groomed & Arched

Desire a clean cut brows with a little arched? Say less. While thick and arched brow looks serve a strong and intimidating look, groomed, clean cut and arched brow offer a more sexy look as it plays with the shape of your features. Your brows look pretty clean, look after and slightly raise ala Dwayene Johnson!

6. Groomed & Round

Last but not least, if you lean towards a softer and relaxed side of a feature, opt for a groomed and fresh cut brows, as for the shape, ask your brow stylist to arched them with a rounded shape. This will make you look approachable, relaxed and easygoing! Monitor the growth of your brows around the lids, if you need more trimming after a week, let your brow stylist know!
