Kiehl’s is back at ION Orchard Mall, and this time, they’ve harnessed their creative energy to champion sustainability with “Kiehl’s NYC Subway: Trash To Art.” This groundbreaking installation seamlessly fuses artistic ingenuity with futuristic aesthetics, all in the name of sustainability. 

The event was a spectacular celebration where Kiehl’s devoted patrons and esteemed guests immersed themselves in the world of Kiehl’s while passionately endorsing the brand’s core cause — sustainability.

Sustainability Takes Centre Stage

Imagine stepping into a world where art converges with sustainability. As you enter, you’re greeted by the awe-inspiring Kiehl’s Super Tree — a towering structure meticulously fashioned from empty Kiehl’s containers. 

This futuristic masterpiece features high-tech screens that dazzle with product information about Kiehl’s bestsellers. Upon closer inspection, you’ll discern the silhouettes of upcycled Kiehl’s products ingeniously woven into the design, a homage to Kiehl’s dedicated recycling community.

Standing adjacent to it is the UFC Waterfall, an artful construction crafted from emptied Ultra Facial Cream containers. It’s not just a visual spectacle; it serves as a reminder of the Ultra Facial Cream’s remarkable hydration properties. 

This artwork presides over the empties’ drop-off point, underscoring the event’s central theme — sustainability. Here, visitors are encouraged to contribute their clean beauty empties, contributing to Kiehl’s mission to recycle 60,000 empties this month.

Step into the Time Travel Tunnel and embark on a captivating journey through Kiehl’s rich history. Explore the brand’s humble beginnings as an apothecary in 1851 and witness its transformation into the iconic brand it is today. 

One screen showcases 172 years of milestones, while another features a video introducing three local guest artists who have breathed life into trash-to-art creations exclusively for this installation. They share their inspirations and eco-friendly practices, adding a unique layer to the experience.

At the Morning C + Night A Glass Skin capsule, you’ll uncover the secrets of Kiehl’s signature apothecary-style skincare.

Where Art and Sustainability Converge

Inspired by “Trash to Art,” Kiehl’s has collaborated with three local artists to bring captivating art installations to the subway. “The Big Apple” and “The Empire State Building” are just some of the striking creations crafted from Kiehl’s empties. 

Then there’s “My Forever Blooms,” a structure inspired by the Calendula Herbal-Extract Alcohol-Free Toner, constructed from eco-friendly materials.

To wrap up an extraordinary evening, Kiehl’s  treated their guests to a melodic journey. Singer-songwriter Haven, adored by Gen Z, serenaded us with her new single, “No Hard Feelings,” and the crowd-pleaser “Future Somebody.”
