Strobe Cream

Makeup artist: Sha Shamsi

If you want that bridal glow, Shamsi cited this popular MAC product as a favorite to mix in with liquid foundation. Mixing a few drops of illuminators into your foundation is an old makeup artist trick that is easy to copy. To keep from looking too shiny or even becoming oily, make sure to only use a few (as in, one or two!). Set it with loose powder to keep from looking oily. Shamsi said she’s used this as a makeup base for added radiance.

Prep + Prime Fix+

Makeup artist: Larry Yeo

Yeo says he started using this product in 2002—almost two decades ago! And it has been around before the internet picked up on the magic of a makeup setting spray. Use it to dilute a thick foundation, to give your eyeshadow a liquid effect, or to refresh your makeup and skin during your breaks. You can also use when you switch from work to cocktail hour. This cult favorite spray also helps give your makeup go from cakey to a natural finish.

190 Foundation Brush

Makeup Artist: Shaun Lee

Celebrity makeup artist Shaun Lee recommends this not for applying your face makeup. Rather he suggests to use this to pat on highlighter. This way, you keep from going overboard. Instead you get that coveted glow that looks like good skincare habits rather than a pile of glitter on your face. Be sure to apply highlighter in a well-lit area so you can properly see how much you have applied.

Prep + Prime Essential Oil

Makeup artist: Beno Lim

This product is great for energizing skin. It can be used before applying makeup, to moisturize skin and give it a healthy glow. It can also clarify skin. One of Lim’s favorite ways to use the MAC Prep + Prime Essential Oil is to mix it with any liquid foundation “for a more sheer payoff and beautiful glow.”

Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolour

Makeup artist: Larry Yeo and Rina Sim

Both makeup artists say this is one of their favorite lipsticks because of its reach pigment with great lasting power. The color stays put the whole day and it does not make your lips look dry. It is also transfer-proof so you will not have to worry about it getting on your coffee cup, wine glass, or your partner! Try Oh, Lady for a deep wine shade, Feels So Grand for a classic red, and Ladybegood for a warm mid-tone nude.
