What do makeup pros use to cover dark circles under the eyes? And how do they make sure it lasts the whole day? Here are some of the staples in their beauty kits

Cle de Peau Beaute Radiant Corrector

Why they love it: It’s hydrating formula doesn’t cake or sit in fine lines.

Apply this over the entire under-eye to correct dark circles or shadows. Tap it in with your fingertip. “Light-reflecting concealers look more natural in real life than ‘baking’ a creamy concealer,” says makeup artist Sandra Oh.

Charlotte Tilbury Magic Powder

Why they love it: Think of it as concealer insurance. It helps concealer last all day, even in hot and humid weather.

Many makeup pros use this for wedding makeup or outdoor shots. “It sets your under-eyes, blur imperfections, and helps to diminish dark shadows of the face while boosting radiance,” says Kelli Bartlett, Artistic director at Glamsquad. Apply with a fluffy eyeshadow or concealer brush.

Makeup tip: Use light-reflecting concealers to hide dark circles under the eyes. Use high coverage concealers for blemishes and discoloration.

Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer

Why they love it: This has high-coverage, so a little goes a long way. Comes in a wide shade range.

This award-winning concealer covers even the darkest of dark circles under eyes and never cakes or fades. Once it’s on, it stays on. The trick is in the application. “It looks okay if you apply it with a finger, but it looks amazing when you use a concealer brush and then pat it in with your fingers. That’s more precise, and gives you a very natural look — like you’re not wearing concealer at all,” says wedding makeup artist Aliyah Go.

Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat Radiant Touch Concealer

Why they love it: The light formula is perfect for mid-day touchups

If you’ve got oily or acidic skin, it may be impossible to get thru the day without retouching your concealer. Beauty brand executive and makeup trainer Amanda Gatchalian uses this on herself when she has to go from work to after-office meetings or parties. “It gives that extra bit of brightness and freshness. On weekends, sometimes I use this on my lids to hide discoloration so my eyes look bigger and brighter without actually using eyeshadow.”

Make Up For Ever 5 Camouflage Cream Palette Color Corrector

Why they love it: Customize your concealer shade

This palette comes in variants for yellow, olive and dark skin tones. You can use it under your eyes and the rest of your face. “I like the high coverage and how I can mix the shades to get the perfect match,” says Sammy Chua. Her concealer tip: moisturize with an eye cream, then apply with a sponge or a brush. You can also set with yellow powder to further neutralize purple or blue shadows.
